Lancaster County School
District – Acceptable Use Policy
The following guidelines
apply to all users of the computing system provided by Lancaster County School District and to users of the eChalk system provided for the use of faculty,
staff, students, parents and guests:
General Guidelines
1.
Users are entirely responsible
for all activities conducted through their eChalk account and the district
computing system.
2.
Users will not use these systems
to:
a.
Transmit or cause the
transmission of any harassing, threatening, or otherwise abusive messages, data
or information
b.
Post or transmit any unsolicited
advertising, promotional or marketing materials
3.
Users will not violate any
privacy rights or rights of publicity of any person.
4.
Users will not attempt, or assist
others in attempting to, compromise the security or integrity of the district’s
eChalk or computing system.
5.
Users will restrict the use of
the district computer system to educational activities to avoid negatively
impacting network performance.
6.
Violations of this Acceptable Use
Policy may result in the termination of all privileges relating to the use of the
district’s eChalk system and or computing system.
7.
Users should be aware that the
eChalk system and the district computer system could be configured to allow
certain users to monitor their accounts (student as well as faculty and staff).

guidelines and information pertinent to students and employees are found in the
Computer Use Agreement published in the newsletter, Learning in Lancaster County School
District. Copies are distributed to students at the beginning
of school each year and are available at the district office, 300 S. Catawba Street, Lancaster, SC.
