Emailing A Teacher
Here's a suggestion for parents.  When you email a teacher, please use the subject Regarding my student.  This will ensure that your email goes through our system without problems.  Do not add quotation marks or your child's name in the subject.

Character Education

This week's character word is PATIENCE.

Patience is the ability to wait or to continue doing something despite difficulties.

"Patience and fortitude conquer all things." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Discovery School Pledge

I pledge to be a good citizen of Discovery School
To improve my academic achievement, and to show respect;
To always reach for excellence, and try to be successful in everything I do;
Because that is Discovery Pride and what we aim for too!

Lancaster's Public Charter School

Discovery School provides services to a diverse population of students in a unique learning environment with special emphasis on academic innovation and flexibility while encouraging students to excel in one or more areas of intelligence.

From the Leadership Team

We hope you will feel the excitement when you walk into Discovery School. Excitement for teaching and learning. Excitement for sharing learning accomplishments. Excitement for exploration and growth.

We want Discovery School to be a place where practical application of the Multiple Intelligences theory is coupled with current educational research and technology, providing optimal learning experiences for all children. Teachers employ innovative and creative teaching strategies, including problem-based learning and the freedom to choose learning materials from a variety of sources rather than a particular text.
